Donna: When talking about doing more with less time. What's really important is our mindset, because what I know to be true is that half the battle is making the time to do the things that you know, you need to be doing. And it has very little to do with the amount of time we have and everything to do with mindset.
Now I'm hugely passionate about helping moms who are made for more to grow their business around the needs of their family. Whilst also ensuring that they get that necessary downtime to rest and recharge. Because when we rest and recharge, not only does it help you to live as the best version of yourself, but it positively impacts your level of productivity
One of the ways that you can carve out that rest time and to carve out time, to be present with the ones who mean the most to you. Is to be super productive with the time that you choose to spend on your business. So I want to ask you what's on your to-do list this week. What are the things that you're working towards within your business?
And I want to know who feels like you're chasing your tail. Do you feel like there's never enough time? Now I know that we get tired of hearing about all the things that there is to do. Here's 10 more ways to save time. Here's another trick, watch this video and you'll save 10 minutes a day. And I know I've been there where I've been like, ah, I don't have 10 minutes a day to do this thing.
I understand that when you're hustling to build a business, the last thing that you have is time. And the last thing you want to hear is that there's more things that you need to do. So I want to speak to the listeners who are feeling tired and have so much going around in your head. I want to speak to you right now, and I'm speaking from my heart.
I'm going to say how it is because I want to help you. Now, if you have two minutes today and you have two minutes tomorrow, then you have four minutes to do something. I don't believe in the amount of time, I believe in the quality of how we use that time. And I believe that you need to make a little bit of time to get the results that you want.
I do not know. I have no idea how you spend the minutes of your day or the hours in your day. But I'm going to hazard a guess that I think I know that there's a high likelihood that you either have a job that pays your bills and you're trying to build something else on the side, like your business or that your business is now your full-time job.
And you're trying to build more revenue or a new or diverse revenue stream within your business. And that takes a lot of time. And I also know that there's a pretty good chance that the vast majority of people that are listening are in a relationship, a pretty committed relationship that takes time and energy.
And I also know that the majority of the people who are listening most probably have children. So, if you have a day job that pays your bills in addition to running your business, or you're trying to build your business up to build more revenue, if you're committed in a relationship and you have children, then the chances are, you probably feel like you don't have your head screwed on.
And you know, that's just reality for a lot of people. So you do have the decision to say, my life is crazy and I can't do everything I want to do, so I'm going to throw my hands up and I'm just going to say. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that it happens, or maybe you're thinking, well, this weekend, what I can do is have a block of time.
I can work with my husband and work with my partner and block out one hour to work on this thing. And if you can do that, it's amazing. But I know from experience that what tends to happen is that one hour that you've saved up for over the week gets diminished very, very quickly to probably half the amount of time that you had planned.
Once you get settled. Once you, you know, sitting at your desk and you stop scrolling through socials, and once the kids stop banging on the door and you've procrastinated, and you've pushed back on this, and you've looked at that, what happens is instead of having an hour, we end up with, you know, 20 minutes twenty-five minutes.
Now you can do a lot within 25 minutes, if you're focused and you're in flow. My point here, is that it isn't the amount of time that you have, or don't have, it's that you've probably been spending the most part of the week putting it off because you're looking for the perfect time to do it. I believe that a little bit of time, every day, as a discipline, as a discipline is going to be the thing that moves the needle for you. And I do believe that finding those tiny micro pieces of time to help elevate you. And when people say like they don't have time, if you say you don't have time, I'm going to invite you to actually look at that and say, it's a belief.
Say, I believe I don't have time. I think you could also believe that you do have time. What could I look at and see where I could spend my time? What if it means if I could take a shorter shower and have like a six minute shower instead of an 11 minute shower? What does it mean if I were to maybe plan my outfit the day before and have it all ready to go.
So that the next day, instead of spending 15 minutes looking at my wardrobe, thinking I've got nothing to wear, I'm going to spend two minutes getting dressed, because I've already laid it out the night before. It's these small little changes that can really carve out time for you in your day. A massive one is social media.
We can spend so much time sitting on social media. So I want you to ask yourself, what does it mean for me to change the behaviours, to get what I want? What does it mean for me to change the behaviours, to get what I want? These are the conversations that many of us won't have because it holds a mirror up to us. You know, it makes us change as humans when we hold the mirror up to ourselves. But sometimes that can be a little bit scary to say in reality, where we're spending our time. So what is the belief in your mind that's stopping you? What's making you think? I don't have time. What would it look like for you to change the belief about how you choose to spend your time?
Ask yourself? Can I find 10, 20, 30 minutes a day? To have uninterrupted time to focus on the thing that's going to move you closer to what you want. What I do know is that if you continue to tell yourself that you don't have time, that belief will become a fact eventually, but when you ask yourself, am I spending time the way that I should? Well, now you're having a different conversation.
So I want to challenge you. I want you to think seriously about the time that you spend and where you're investing it. Because it is an investment. We only get to be on this earth once, at least in this lifetime. So think seriously about planning your day, a little bit better to pick up pockets of time that will transform the way that you work on your business. I'm just inviting you to change the belief system, because if we open ourselves up to possibilities, then we can close ourselves off to self limiting beliefs. Our mind, Oh my goodness, our mind is a very powerful thing. And you can convince yourself that you don't have time, or you could make time. You could restructure, and you could think about things differently, but only you have the answer. I don't have the answer for you, but I do have the time right now to invite you to think about. To figure out a way to pick up an extra 10, 20 or 30 minutes a day. And that my friend, five days a week equates to two and a half hours a week, two and a half hours of extra time every week.
And with that time you could market your business, you could build your brand, you could develop your strategy. You could invest in a professional development course, an online course. You can invest that time and energy into the things that move the needle. And that's how you reach your goals. That's how you move from feeling overwhelmed, to feeling fulfilled and thriving as a business owner.
That's how you go from burning out to burning bright. Once you've carved out that time and taken yourself out of that limiting belief cycle, there's so much you can do.
So if you want your future self to feel fulfilled and energised and inspired, it's really a mindset shift. And it's a choice. It's a choice to take action and learn, and then implement new ways of doing into your life and into your business.
