Before we start, I want to lay it straight. Business is hard. Things won't always go to plan. Life can be hard. And I've been through some really, really challenging tough times. And I bet that you have to. But when you have a mindset toolkit that's filled with strategies and techniques and skills that actually work to get you through those moments when things don't go to plan. That's what can be the difference between you giving up on your business or making irrational and reactive decisions that could see you spiraling into self doubt and overwhelm. And so instead, we can you and I, we need to continually work on our mindset, and our business skills, of course, in order to really build strength and resilience that will then set you apart and will help you to thrive, personally and professionally with your business. Now, I always when I'm thinking of topics that I can talk about on this podcast, and in this two parts series, let's call it I really wanted to give you and share with you the content that I delivered as a masterclass. But in the form of a podcast. It was the masterclass that I presented for the Regional Business Women's membership in January, because it's so freakin powerful. If you take this stuff on board, if you implement it, if you take action on this stuff, you will absolutely set your mindset up for success, which will absolutely help your business success. And if you've listened to my podcast before, you'll know that my purpose is to support regional business women with world class business training and mindset training to support you to have the things that you need without having to work out the logistical nightmare of getting somewhere. Usually, it's a capital city, which I don't know about you. But for me, it's like six to seven hours drive. Or it's a flight. Maybe you're somewhat closer to the big smoke or maybe you're even further away. And you've got interconnecting flights and overnight stays. And it's a nightmare, right? Organize all those things and who's looking after the kids and the property. And it's time away from your business time that you don't have because your time poor already. I know I get it and spending a shit ton of money to make it all happen. Rant over for now. Since my purpose is that I'm bringing all of this to you on this podcast and online with the Regional Business Women's membership. That's where that's where the real magic happens online in the membership. So if you love this podcast, you will love love, love the membership. And yes, of course you need to work on your business skills under present. But we also need to work on our mindset. And we also need to be surrounded by awesome humans who want to rise with you who want you to rise with them versus feeling isolated and lonely in your business journeys. So, hand on heart, you know, I believe I really do truly believe that you deserve to be seen and supported by being part of a network of inspiring, uplifting and genuinely, genuinely kind, regional business women who get it right. And it's possible it is possible. And maybe it's time for you to breathe new life into your business in a way that feels intentional and exciting, and aligned to your vision and your lifestyle. Because I don't know about you, but I feel like life is both too short and too long not to be doing what you love with joy. So I want that for you. And I want you to know that you can have the business that you dream of, because everything that you need to grow your business and chase those big dreams, that's right here. That's my whole purpose. You know, my whole purpose is to set you up for success. So let's go if you haven't listened to part one, don't worry, you can come back and you can listen to that one. Later. In that one, I shared the mindset strategies that you need so that you don't let the past define your future. I talked about how you can take steps of courage over feeling like you need to have loads of competence in the competence before you do something that's outside of your comfort zone, you just need to take a small step towards courage. And I also shared how to remove fear and ask powerful questions to help you avoid spiraling into overwhelm and self doubt. Now, today, I'm sharing for life changing habits, habits that lead to long term success, wellbeing, and happy relationships both with yourself and with others around you. Now, in early 2023, I decided not just to formalize my skills in the form of a coaching certification, but I also wanted to grow my skills to a whole nother level. And to do that, I went on a hunt to find something that was really aligned to my goals and my client's needs. Because often My clients were lacking clarity, and they wanted to generate more energy and vitality for themselves. They wanted to increase their productivity, they needed to elevate their confidence and their courage, because they wanted to make a big difference, a positive influence in the world around them. And high performance coaching, incorporates all of those things. And I knew when I found the High Performance Institute, I knew it was it. And so I dove into a program that is facilitated by Brendon Burchard, who is the co founder of the High Performance Institute. He is the world's leading high performance coach, and I joined his high performance coaching certification, I certified in early 2023. Just trying to think of what date is was it was like, I'm gonna say February or March. And it you know, it was huge, it was a big thing. It was a big deal. And so, I am sharing today, his Brendon Burchard, for life changing habits, that's what I'm sharing with you here today, because they are super powerful. They have helped me so much in my own personal and business journey, because remember, I'm in business just like you to write. And it's also helped my clients, when I've shared these life changing habits with them in the style and the methodology of coaching that I follow. It makes an incredible, huge, huge difference. So the first one is practicing the habit of setting high levels of intention for each day. So what does that mean? Well, when we get to the end of our life, which hopefully is in the long distant future,

will most probably be asking ourselves if we have the opportunity to ponder is did I leave? Did I love? And did I matter? So did I live with full integrity as my true authentic self? Did I love with a full heart unconditionally? And did I matter? Did I make a difference to someone else's world to my own world? Did I fulfill my legacy? My personal purpose statement, you don't always have to get it right. But when we start each day, with a clear purposeful intention of making each of those elements that I've just shared with you better, it can really change the way that you look at the world. It can really change the things that you choose to do and the way in which you choose to do them. It's super powerful. Number two is bring that joy. So if you're going to do it, let's do it with some joy. Now, can you make this more joyful? It's a really powerful question to ask yourself. If you're going to show up and be something or do something, do it with joy. You get to decide to do this To invite the type of energy that you want around you, it's actually your responsibility, it's up to no one else. When you walk into a space, and maybe the energy feels off, you have the choice to take that and accept it as it is. Or you can choose to charge it up. It's up to you, it's your choice, you get to decide, and the energy that is in that space, when you leave that space, why not leave it better than you found it? In magic being known as the person who does that? Yeah, I'd feel pretty good, wouldn't it, I'm sure it'd be feeling pretty good for everybody else, too. Because I think that there's enough pessimism in the world. And we could allow ourselves to drown in that pessimism. If we accepted it, and we allowed it to overtake us, you have the choice to not contribute to that pessimistic energy and instead bring vitality and joy into the world, which, by the way, is contagious. So you will make the world a better place to live in, not just for you, but for the people around you as well. And if you're a visual person, because I am to then visualize a power plant, a power plant that doesn't have energy, it generates energy, right doesn't start off as a building a thing that has energy, it actually has to generate it. So choose to generate Joy intentionally for yourself, for your business for those around you. And this is something that I personally am working on a lot for myself this year. Because I get so focused on my business, I get, like, you know, really, really, what's the word, I'm pretty strategic minded, right? So bringing the joy, although I am a pretty happy, bubbly person, in general, I do still need to make sure that I am bringing the joy to all of the other elements as well, because I want to live with that vitality. And I want to feel charged up and help other people to feel the same as well. So asking the question, how can I make this more joyful? How can I intentionally make this more fun? How can I charge this moment in time with positive energy. So really learning to trigger happiness, change the tone of the conversation, shift the energy. I'm jumping in here, the thank you for listening to the shoes in business podcast. So if you want to go and get it head to done a hand.com forward slash one 110 That's 110 which is the episode number of the last podcast but you know it current corresponds with this one because it's a two part series. You know where I'm going with this. It is done a handout comm forward slash 110 If you want to go and get the resource which is free that goes along with this. Now back to the for life. changing habits. The third one is honoring the struggle. So when you have a struggle, which you will I do we all do, let's instead not be mad at the struggle, don't bemoan the struggle, don't hate the struggle. Instead, what if we were to flip it and actually honor it. So bringing honor to the struggle recognizes that the struggle has been put before us as a challenge. You don't have to like the challenge. You don't need to embrace it and love it and color it, you just need to honor the demand that comes with that, as the challenge is to that it's a challenge of your character and your capability. It's put before us, it's put before you to find an answer to access somebody maybe to, you know, spark a new idea to have a new experience that wouldn't have existed without the struggle to honor it. And trust that it's for a reason, take it as a heroic journey, deal with it from your highest your best self and find the lesson in that in the struggle and know that by adopting it. What is sometimes referred to as the growth mindset is that you will become better, more experienced more adaptable as a person and as a business owner. And just let me pause for a second and acknowledge that possibly, you might be thinking, Well, that's all easy and well to say, and I am not discounting that professional help is essential at times for managing anxiety and depression and deep levels of low self esteem and low confidence. Nor am I suggesting for a second that I'm a physician in any way at all. But in those moments of struggle, it can absolutely feel like shit. Like back in 2020, I separated from my husband moved out of our family home, I closed my entire business and took it all online, I owned a studio, a dance studio back then COVID heat, that's why I had to close the studio. And my dad was very, very unwell, he later passed away. But at that time, he was staying with us on holiday from WA from Western Australia. And he couldn't get home. It was shit, it was total shock, complete shit. But I knew that the best thing I could do at that time, when it was one thing after the other after the other after the other was to lean into my mindset to look for the lessons and to take it step by step. And particularly in those big life moments, or when you feel like it's one thing after another after another after another, like those moments can have the power to really unravel you. So I invite you to think of your business as a journey rather than a destination. Wipe it from your mind that there is a destination, there is no destination. It's just one big journey. And on any journey, there will be bumps in the road, there will be valleys and there will be peaks, there will be highs and there'll be lows, one step forward, two steps back, there will be times when you need to take a turn in a new direction times when you need to persist and keep pushing forward. And all of those moments that make up the journey are strengthening you. So whether you are, you know, wherever you are along that journey, trust that it's exactly where you need to be. And there are three words that will help you to accept that where you are, for the point in time, and whilst you're honoring the struggle is three words. And that's okay. So it could be like I'm struggling with, I don't know, separating from my husband. And that's okay. It's not fair that the thing that I was trying to do with my business didn't work out. But that's okay. It helps to neutralize your initial thoughts and then honor it by reminding yourself that it's part of the journey, that there's something you need to learn for the next part of the journey that lies ahead of you that you don't know about yet. And it's been put before you to find an answer to access someone the new idea, a new experience that wouldn't come without that struggle. So honor it and trust that it's for a reason, take it as a kind of heroic journey, and deal with it from your highest best self. How would your future, this self deal with the stress, the challenge, the difficulty and the inconvenience? And that then leads you to the final habit that I have for you, which is the role, the role model mindset. So which is if you're going to do this, if you're going to, you know, accept this challenge or do the thing doesn't necessarily have to be a negative challenge. It can be in the positive space. I'm going to handle this in a way that role models the right way, because other people are watching your kids see how you show up your community, you're influencing other people. So be intentional and thoughtful and gracious about the way you show up and how you impact others. I want you to have a positive impact and influence in the world. So you know in order to do that, I recommend quieting down the lesser At negative petty egoic side, right? They will those parts of us would, they'll always be there. But how about we don't allow them to win the day. The purpose four sides of You and me are stronger and louder, and they will win the day. So be a leader, a leader to yourself a leader in your business to your family, and create the life that has that positive ripple effect. Because business is a mind game. But you will always have a choice. Business isn't always fun, but you can find joy in the struggle, and the fear that will at times sometimes overpower your mind, take it just as a message. It's our body's way of telling us we're stepping into new territory. We're stretching ourselves, because growth doesn't sit in comfort. And sometimes it's going to be hard. But hard means we just need to work a bit harder on the thing until it feels easier. And in the meantime, let's find the joy in the struggle. Let's ask better questions to get better answers. Let's take small steps of courage that over time develop into competence and competence. Focus on small changes which over time translates to big results. And if you want that success, it starts with making a choice to changing the things that no longer serve you and your business. And making that choice only takes a second. And in that second, you can change the direction of your future. Right now in this second by practicing awareness of your own thoughts, learning how to take control of your mind and mastering the mind game of business. It's absolutely going to help you to propel the level of success that you want and that you deserve and that you have the potential to create.
